Run & Strength Circuit
I want to share one of my favorite workouts that I do to improve my cardio and strength. In fact, this is a workout I use a lot in my bootcamp workouts and my campers get great results with this.
When the weather is nice enough, we go outside and complete this routine in the neighborhood and local parks.
Run Power Circuit:
Set 1:
Run 5 minutes easy.
Walk lunge 20 reps
Pushups (as many as you can while keeping good form)
20 Body weight Squats
Set 2:
Run 5 minutes harder than the first 5 minutes
Pushups (as many as you can while keeping good form)
10 squat jumps
Set 3:
Run 5 minutes harder
Walk lunge 20 reps
Pushups
20 Body weight squats
Set 4:
Run 5 minutes as hard as you can
10 Squat jumps
Pushups
This workout can be completed in 45minutes or less. The key is to maintain good form and try to get as many pushups in each set as you did in the first one.
Here are some photos of my Run with Jill bootcampers in action with this circuit
This is just one example of the many workouts I like to do for myself and my bootcampers. The key to improving speed and strength is to add variety and creativity. You always want to keep the body guessing by varying your workouts so it doesn’t get used to the same old routine.
How about you? what are some of your creative workouts? Please share with us here
