4 Tips to your Dream Body
A Goal Without a Plan is Just a Wish
I’m writing this blog post today as I sit here and review the results of my 6 week Summer Body Challenge. I did this challenge with my bootcamp clients and WOW! did we have some amazing results. I find that most people either workout a lot and don’t eat well, or they eat well and don’t workout a lot. So, I designed this program to help my clients reach their body image goals and give them fat blasting workouts along with a nutrition plan.
I also gave a TON of group support and motivation. I think that is the most important when it comes to reaching a goal. This is also why I love what I do because I love to inspire and support people.
I’m a big follower of Tosca Reno. She is the creator and author of the Eat Clean book. Some of my tips came directly from her.
So, here we go…
Every now and then it’s important to remind ourselves of the basics. We’re all here because we have a goal. Whether it’s toning up for a friend’s wedding or finally losing those pounds that have been affecting our quality of life for years, we all want the same thing – to feel good in our own skin and be happy with what we see in the mirror.
Here are the four things you should remember every day that will help you achieve your dream body:
1. Eat Clean.
Tthe body is shaped by nutrition far more than genetics or training. When you follow a clean eating plan you’ll be eating more food that nourishes your body. Before you know it, the excess fat on your body will be falling away – all from making better food choices. Load up on clean foods such as: fruits, veggies, lean meats, sweet potatoes, fish, and nuts.
2. Schedule it in.
At first, ensuring that you have Clean foods readily available for you and your family may seem like a daunting task. However, through planning and practice, this lifestyle will become second nature. Twice a week, I designate time for grocery shopping and preparing meals. Sunday evenings and Wednesday evenings are for grocery shopping and food preparation. I cook large batches of chicken breast, brown rice, hard boiled eggs and veggies and use them as the base for as many meals as I can. I also take the time to make a quick plan of which meals I will cook throughout the week so I don’t have to worry about it every day.
3. Get Active.
Even though nutrition is the primary factor in shaping your body, training is still very important. Regular exercise consisting of resistance training and cardiovascular activity helps strengthen your heart, prevent disease, improve your quality of life and will help you sculpt and tone your body while you lose weight. Make the process of getting exercise as effortless as possible. Expect yourself to set aside time at least four times a week for physical activity. I create very fun and challenging bootcamp classes so my clients never get bored and always get results.
4. Don’t Feel Guilty.
No one said this was going to be easy. Don’t feel guilty if you falter along the way; associating negative feelings with your new habit won’t help! Your will to make this habit a part of your life should propel your forward. Don’t punish yourself for your mistakes. Instead visualize yourself performing your action and continue moving toward your goals. Remember, the goal is consistency, not perfection.
If you have a fitness or weight goal I really encourage you to sit down and write out your action plan to getting there. Its one thing to think it and another to do it. Start with a paper and pen and make a plan TODAY!
Please leave a comment if you would like to share something that has worked best for you to achieve your goals. Its always great to learn from others.

A goal without a plan is just a wish. I love that! Did you create this? I want to use it, and will quote you, if it’s your creation.
Thanks for the tips. Great reminders!
I just want to thank you for this post. I am a runner and I was injured eight weeks ago. Well needless to say I’ve gained a pound a week. Ive been really depressed. I needed to hear your tips and encouragement today!!! Thank you!
I agree completely, it takes planning and execution to get results with a ‘dream body’ plan, just like with anything else. As for eating clean, as a vegan I don’t think there is anything ‘clean’ about meat, lean or otherwise. Very low nutrient value compared with plant-based foods, loaded with cholesterol and no carbs. Without which the mind and body cannot function. So my advice would be to cut out all animal products for 6 weeks and see what a huge difference that will make in the way you feel, and of course your vital functions (blood pressure, cholesterol levels, energy, and much more).
