14 healthy, quick, and easy breakfast ideas

The MOST important meal of the day yet so many people skip it.  Breakfast is what motivates me to get out of bed some mornings.  I love breakfast!

Breakfast literally means “breaking the fast,” and it helps us to refuel our energy stores, which have been depleted overnight.  We need breakfast in order to have the energy for the day’s activities.

My rule of thumb for breakfast is to include the following: a lean protein, a complex carb (fruit), 10oz of water.

Here are 12 quick and easy breakfast ideas (please share in the comments below what you eat for breakfast)..

1) Hard boiled egg, 1 orange, and 1 piece of toast

2) 1 pack plain instant oatmeal, 1/2 cup berries, 1/4 cup crumbled walnuts

3) 1 banana and 1 tbsp nut butter

4) 1 whole grain wrap filled with 2 scrambled eggs, 1 cup spinach, 1/2 cup salsa, 1 piece avocado.  1/2 cup grapes

5) 1 container plain Greek yogurt topped with a handful of fresh strawberries and 1 tbsp pumpkin seeds

6) string cheese and apple

7) toast spread with nut butter and topped with sliced berries or bananas

8. 1 cup Go Lean Crunch cereal mixed with 1/2 cup low fat milk and 1/2 banana.

9) 1 piece toast topped with 2 slices ham or turkey, 1 tbsp cream cheese, and 1 tomato

10) leftover meat from last nights dinner and a piece of fruit

11) protein shake: mix and shake 1 scoop protein powder with 80z water or juice.

12) Luna Protein bar or Lara Bar

13) 1/2 cup low fat cottage cheese with 1/2 cup mixed berries and trail mix

14) turkey sausage and a piece of fruit

I could come up with a ton of different breakfast recipe ideas.  Eat what YOU like and keep it healthy, of course icon smile 14 healthy, quick, and easy breakfast ideas

I usually have two go to breakfast things – oatmeal with OJ and coffee OR two hard boiled eggs with no yoke and a kashi peanut butter bar with coffee. Thanks for posting this – now I have some new things to try!

Here lately I’ve been having 1 small roma tomatoe, 1 avacado, 1 hardboiled egg and 1 slice of toast. Yummy! Of course my water…always!!!
