Inspirational video and an opportunity to run Boston Marathon!
Hey! Happy Wednesday. I just finished a run at the beach in a tank top and its the middle of October. Its a beautiful day here in Seattle and I”m very grateful for it!
I’ve received some emails this week and wanted to share them as I find them inspirational. If anyone is interested in running the Boston Marathon read below and find out how you can get in to this years race.
The first email I received came from Liz and she informed me that U.S. Army Veteran, motivational speaker and Dancing with the Stars Champ, J.R. Martinez has partnered with Timex to run the New York City Marathon in November.
J.R. is training to take on the 26.2 mile course with the help of a Timex coach as well the help of the Timex Ironman Run Trainer GPS because he’s signed on to run the marathon with a catch – J.R. will start the marathon dead last! For each person J.R. passes, Timex will donate $1 to the New York Road Runners Youth Program. J.R. has made it his personal goal to pass 31,000 people (last year Timex’s runner Jennie Finch passed just shy of 30,400).
Here are two really fantastic videos of J.R. speaking about his marathon journey as well as a special inspirational Timex story

The second email was to let me (and my blog readers) know the American Liver Foundation still has spots available on their 2013 Run for Research Boston Marathon team. Team members receive a comprehensive training program presented by professionals for runners of all levels, team meetings, fun social events, weekly group runs, two training runs on the marathon course, team clothing, luxury buses to the start line, and complimentary massages and snacks post-race. The American Liver Foundation also provides fundraising tips, resources and supplies.
